The Norwegian Atle Lie McGrath dominated the first round of the slalom in Wengen, Switzerland, on Sunday, relegating his first pursuers Henrik Kristoffersen and Tanguy Nef to more than 4/10ths. McGrath, who has just had three podiums then two eliminations in the discipline, as always left very quickly, to complete the course in 54 sec 75.
His compatriot Kristoffersen, leader of the provisional slalom World Cup ranking, is at 43/100th ahead of two Swiss, Tanguy Nef (at 53/100th) and Daniel Yule (at 67/100th).
Frenchman Clément Noël, winner last Saturday in the neighboring Adelboden valley, is in 11th place at 1 sec 10. The second round is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. (GMT+1).
