Star Academy: Ebony wins her ticket for an all-female final

After more than three months of intense adventure at the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys, the verdict fell this Saturday, January 18, 2025: it is Ebony who joins Marine for a historic and 100% female final of the Star Academy.

A high-flying duel alongside prestigious artists

Studio 217 vibrated to the rhythm of the performances of Franck and Ebony, who outdid themselves throughout the evening. Zaz opened the ball by sharing the stage successively with the two academicians on “Dazzled by the night“, immediately setting the tone for an exceptional evening. The prestigious guests then followed one another: Youssou N’Dour offered a moment of grace with Ebony on his legendary “7 Seconds”while Marc Lavoine shared “She has gun eyes.” with Frank.

The group Cats on Trees was also there alongside Marine, who had already qualified for the final. The two semi-finalists then continued their performances, notably during a fiery song-dance performance on “Unholy” by Sam Smith, before confronting each other on “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele, demonstrating the full extent of their vocal abilities.

Emotionally charged solo performances for academics

The most intense moments of the evening came from the solo performances. Ebony shocked the audience with a poignant rendition of “Don’t judge me”e Camille Lellouche, surrounded by a troupe of dancers, while Franck delivered a very personal and moving version of “As they say” by Charles Aznavour. The evening concluded with a final duel with “Because it’s you.” by Axelle Red, where the two academicians shared a touching moment of complicity.

A historic victory for Ebony

At the end of this memorable evening, Nikos Aliagas announced Ebony’s qualification for the final: “We saw some great things this evening. The student qualified by the public who will join Marine in the final next week for the last bonus is Ebony.” An announcement which triggered scenes of joy, notably among his father, Thierry Cham, seen dancing in the audience. “Thank you very much, I’m so happy. I’m very grateful, it’s the first time I’ve been confronted with public votes“, declared with emotion the new finalist, who did not forget to address “lots of kisses to Franck.”

The appointment is therefore made on Saturday January 25 for an exceptional final which will see Ebony and Marine face off. The winner will succeed Pierre Garnier and will win a check for 100,000 euros as well as a contract with Sony .
