With its small room of 25 to 30 seats resembling a stub, located in an Alsatian house slightly away from the historic heart, L’Agneau d’or is a renowned address in Obernai, where you can still find traditional Alsatian cuisine and homemade. The business is now for sale, along with the house that houses it.
The chef, Laurent Wolf, who officiates with his wife Corinne in the service, will be 64 years old in September and will retire. “We are here at least until May 31. And we continue until it’s sold. We want the restaurant to keep its soul. We are not going to sell to just anyone,” says the boss, as passionate as ever, and who specifies that he is not sick.
Listed in Figaro’s favorites
The man from Gertwiller will leave proud of what he has accomplished: “When we took over in 2005, the restaurant was very, very low and I said that I was coming for the Obernois. Than the tourists, that would be the icing on the cake. I didn’t expect such success. I was a small one among all the big ones in Obernai. And in December, I was in the top 5 of Figaro’s favorites in Obernai, with Thierry Schwartz, Le Parc, Freiberg and Ami Fritz. »
