-In Israel, the fate of Kfir Bibas, the youngest of the hostages, kidnapped by Hamas at nine months old, worries the population. He is on the list of hostages available for release. On his second birthday, Saturday January 18, many are thinking about the baby. “His story breaks my heart, for several months rumors have been circulating that he is dead”deplores a man.
For fifteen months, the fate of Kfir Bibas, who spent the majority of his life in captivity, has mobilized Israel. The images of his kidnapping with his mother and his 4-year-old brother became the symbol of the Hamas attacks on October 7. Since the announcement of the ceasefire, in the media or in meetings, his family, deprived of news, has increased their interventions. “How is it possible that my grandson kidnapped at nine months is celebrating his second birthday in hell ?”asks Eli Bibas, Kfir Bibas’s grandfather.
