Faced with the disaster hitting Los Angeles, Metallica has decided to take action. Via its All Within My Hands foundation, the metal band has just made a donation of $500,000 which will be divided between two charitable organizations: the Wildfire Recovery Fund of the California Community Foundation and the Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund of the Pasadena Community Foundation.
“Last week, the community lost at least 24 lives, nearly 100,000 people were ordered to evacuate, 16,000 acres burned, and more than 12,000 structures – commercial and residential – were destroyed,” said the group on social networks.
Blood-curdling figures
“But the numbers cannot express the extent of the anguish as the disaster upends families and dismantles livelihoods,” we can still read in the press release posted by Metallica.
-In fact, the outbreaks that broke out in the Los Angeles region on January 7 have already led to the evacuation of more than 150,000 residents. 24 people died and at least 16 people are still missing.
