Brazilian legend and World Cup winner Rivaldo has revealed the two favorites for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
Barcelona started 2025 on a high note, with a stunning triumph over Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup and a fine victory over Real Betis to advance to the quarter-finals of the Copa De Rey.
Several players have stood out at the Blaugrana and club legend Rivaldo believes they will produce the next Ballon d’Or.
In a recent interview, the former Ballon d’Or said: “For the moment, I don’t see anyone ahead of Lamine and Raphinha in the race for the Ballon d’Or.
If we look outside of Spain, Salah is a strong contender for his season and Vinicius will still be there.
But all this will depend a lot on Barcelona and the conquest of collective titles, but both are having a great season”.
-Former footballer Rivaldo praised Yamal’s maturity and confidence on the pitch.
“Yamal shows great confidence towards Barcelona and plays with a maturity well beyond his age”, he said.
He also praised Raphinha, his compatriot.
“Raphinha is also a serious candidate for the Ballon d’Or. He scored goals, gave assists and showed great confidence on the pitch”, confided Rivaldo.
Hansi Flick’s men are still in the race for the title, even if the task has become more difficult with a 6-point gap with the leader, Atlético de Madrid.
