DThey Franco-Israelis are on the list of the first hostages to be released by Hamas. Emmanuel Macron assures that “Ofer Kalderon and Ohad Yahalomi appear in the list of 33 hostages who must be released”, as part of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. “We remain tirelessly mobilized so that their families can find them,” underlined the President of the Republic on X. The date of their release and their state of health are not yet known.

A truce agreement, concluded on Wednesday and which must be accepted by the IDF this Friday, provides for the release of 33 hostages in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. The hostages will be released, within 42 days, in small groups of people. Women, children and men over 50 make up this list.

Negotiations on the implementation of the second phase will begin on the sixteenth day of the first phase and are expected to include the release of all remaining hostages, a permanent ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

Ofer Kalderon and Ohad Yahalomi were captured on October 7, 2023 in Kibbutz Nir Oz. These fifty-year-olds were kidnapped along with certain members of their family, children in particular, who managed to escape or who have since been released.
