World Cup: Alexis Monney eagerly awaited in Wengen

The Nidwalden won the super-G in Wengen in 2022, organized for the first time in 28 years, and also reached the podium the following two years. He is aiming for a 14th success in the discipline in the World Cup.

The Norwegian Fredrik Möller, who won the last super-G in Bormio after two 4th places, promises to be his main opponent. Mattia Casse and Vincent Kriechmayr are also among the contenders for the podium, like the Bernese Franjo von Allmen or the Friborg Alexis Monney.

The Veveysan remains on a podium in Bormio in this discipline. At just 25 years old, he doesn’t put pressure on himself. “Every track is different,” comments Alexis Monney:

Loïc Meillard will line up for the second time this winter in the discipline after finishing 26th at Beaver Creek. The skier from Hérémence especially hopes to shine on Sunday in slalom, where he will be keen to redeem himself after his elimination in Adelboden.

More than 76,000 tickets have already been sold for the Alpine Ski World Cup races in Wengen. This Saturday it’s time for the legendary downhill and Sunday for the slalom.
