Many English-speaking pop stars will come together at the end of January for a benefit show, in order to raise funds for the victims of the fires ravaging the city.
The cream of American pop will come together for a charity concert to benefit the victims of the fires ravaging Los Angeles. Entitled FireAid, this show scheduled for January 30 in two venues in the city will see Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Katy Perry and Pink perform.
Co-organized by live show producer Live Nation, FireAid will be broadcast in the United States in select theaters and on several streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Max, Netflix and Prime Video. As Billboard reports, spectators will be able to participate in a donation drive during the show.
Five Star Programming
The money collected should help rebuild Los Angeles’ infrastructure devastated by the fires, support evacuated families, and prevent such a disaster from happening again.
-The program promises to be varied and prestigious: to the names of Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Katy Perry and Pink will be added those of Tate McRae, Rod Stewart, Sting, Stevie Nicks, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Earth, Wind & Fire, Green Day, Gracie Abrams, Joni Mitchell and Gwen Stefani. Other artists should complete this program.
Ravaged city
For more than a week, and despite the massive mobilization of firefighters, entire sections of the second largest city in the United States are devastated: more than 12,000 structures have been destroyed and more than 15,000 hectares have gone up in smoke. Around 92,000 people are still affected by an evacuation order. The balance sheet amounts to at least 24 deaths.
Faced with the disaster, several figures in American show business have announced donations to help those affected. Jamie Lee Curtis pledged a million dollars and BeyGOOD, Beyoncé’s foundation, announced a payment of 2.5 million. Many celebrities themselves lost their homes in the flames.
