Forty-eight hours before the start of the hostage release agreement, a remarkable atmospheric phenomenon was observed Friday morning in the sky over central Israel. Condensation trails formed what looks like the hostage symbol, marking the third occurrence of this phenomenon in two months.
This atmospheric manifestation, already observed at the beginning of December and then two weeks ago, attracted attention. The Israeli Air Force has provided a scientific explanation for this phenomenon, stating that it results from the interaction between hot water vapor emitted by aircraft engines and cold air at high altitudes.
The physical process is simple but spectacular: When hot engine exhaust gases encounter cold, humid air aloft, water vapor instantly condenses, forming microscopic ice crystals. These crystals then create white streaks in the sky, the shape of which, this time, strikingly evokes the symbol associated with the hostages.
