Proton Competition finalise son trio Hypercar
Proton Competition has revealed its full driver line-up for the Porsche 963 Hypercar. Leading the team is the former WEC champion Neel Janiwho will be joined by two rising stars:
- Nico Pinowhich is moving up the ranks from United Autosports’ LMGT3 program.
- Nico Varrothe reigning champion GTE Am and class winner at Le Mans.
Varrone, who recently participated in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and to Sebring for Corvette Racing, expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter:
“Yes, it’s true, it’s a full season in the WEC, I’m absolutely delighted,” Varrone said.
The co-owner of Proton Christian Ried also hinted that Varrone would continue to participate in IMSA events alongside his WEC commitments.
Peugeot reveals driver combinations for 9X8 Hypercar
Peugeot has confirmed the line-ups for its 9X8 Hypercarwith a mix of experienced veterans and young talents:
- No. 93:
- Paul di Resta
- Michael Jensen
- Jean-Eric Vergne
- No. 94:
- Loic Duval
- Malthe Jakobsen (new driver for the whole season)
- Stoffel Vandoorne
This combination should provide a balance of experience and raw speed as Peugeot looks to compete for honors in the Hypercar category.
Iron Lynx confirms Christian Ried for Mercedes LMGT3 EVO
In a surprise movement, Christian Ried will take the bronze seat in l’AMG LMGT3 EVO No. 61 d’Iron Lynxmarking the German brand’s first season in the WEC. Ried, a stalwart of endurance racing, expressed his excitement about adapting to the new machine:
“It’s great to be back. It will be fun and interesting to compete in a car that is brand new to me.”
The other drivers for entry No. 61 have not yet been confirmed.
AKKODIS ASP names bronze drivers for Lexus RC F LMGT3
Lexus Team AKKODIS ASP announced its bronze driver pairs for its second season in the WEC:
- Arnold Robin will make his return in No. 78.
- Petru Razvan Umbrarescu joins commitment No. 87.
The team has yet to reveal the silver drivers for any of the cars, leaving fans eager to see how the Lexus RC F LMGT3 prepares for its sophomore campaign.
