A week after losing his $14.5 million home in the fire that ravaged the Malibu neighborhood of Los Angeles, actor Mel Gibson was able to return home to survey the damage.

In photos and a video that were obtained by the American site TMZ, Gibson can be seen surveying the rubble of his house, reduced to a pile of ashes, last week.
Despite everything, the 69-year-old actor appears smiling. He shook hands and thanked the firefighters and first responders he encountered at the scene, before leaving in a fire department truck.
-Homes belonging to many Los Angeles celebrities, including Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins and John Goodman, have been destroyed since the start of the historic wildfires that are destroying the movie capital.
In recent days, Mel Gibson also made headlines when he criticized Governor Gavin Newsom’s work to prevent wildfires during an interview he did on Joe Rogan’s podcast.
During the same interview, he also promoted a treatment for cancer that medicine considers false and dangerous. The Canadian Cancer Society even published a message denouncing the false information conveyed by Mel Gibson.
