After beating the Miami Heat on Monday night, the LA Clippers face the Brooklyn Nets for the first time this season on Wednesday. While Kawhi Leonard remained limited in minutes throughout his return, James Harden was ready to lead the charge.
Harden has helped the Clippers stay in the playoff race with a 21-17 record, which currently has them in first place in the Pacific Division. Harden and the Clippers came under fire before the season started, with critics quick to write off the team. Regardless of what critics have said, Harden has been a consistent force for Los Angeles, continuing to do so against the Nets.
During the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, Harden officially passed Dominique Wilkins for 15th place on the NBA’s all-time points list. Harden scored his 26,669th point to pass Wilkins.
Despite as much criticism as James Harden has received over the last few years of his career, he has been everything the Clippers have needed. If Los Angeles still had Paul George instead of Harden, the results would not be the same.
Harden has continued to climb the ranks of the NBA scoring list this season and it doesn’t appear he has any plans to slow down any time soon. This fact alone shows how great James Harden truly is.
