Thursday evening, Anderlecht and Antwerp will face each other in the semi-final of the Croky Cup. A match that promises to be hot because both teams are aiming for final victory in this competition.
Over the past five years, Antwerp has played in no less than three finals and won two of them. After lifting the Cup in 2020 and 2023, Antwerp lost last summer to Union. But last week, they took revenge by eliminating the Brussels team 5-1.
This Thursday, the Great Old will face an Anderlecht team in full doubt. Indeed, the Mauves remain 0/9 in the championship. But despite this, Jonas De Roeck remains wary and does not underestimate Anderlecht.
De Roeck sees Anderlecht
“I don’t think Anderlecht are a wounded beast after their defeat against Club Brugge. It’s not for nothing that they are in the semi-final of the Cup and ahead of us in the standings (one point ahead , editor’s note). It’s true that they have many injuries, but they remain a team with a lot of quality.”
Antwerp with its typical team against RSCA?
The Antwerp coach will therefore not make any significant rotation this Thursday evening (8:45 p.m.): “We are taking this Belgian Cup seriously. We have a chance of reaching the final and we will try not to let it pass us by.”
