Nitzan Goldenberg, 28, from Netanya, was assassinated by Hamas terrorists during the Supernova music festival on October 7, 2023.
He had come to the rave with his friend Olga Romashkin. When the rocket fire started, they decided to leave the scene by car. Both informed their families that they were trying to leave, but were stuck in traffic exiting the parking lot.
Communications with their families stopped around 8 a.m., at which time their families believe Nitzan and Olga were killed by Hamas terrorists. After several days of searching, his family was informed that his body had been identified.
He was buried in Netanya on October 10, 2023. He leaves behind his parents, Yisca and Yaron, his brother Hadar and his sister Zuf.
Born in Eilat, Nitzan was an energetic and curious child. He was interested in martial arts like judo and capoeira, and was an active member of the Boy Scouts, according to Olga Romashkin. At the age of 15, he moved to Netanya with his mother and sister.
His passion for automobile mechanics began in high school. He completed a specialist course in Germany on vehicle diagnostics, then joined the “Atuda” route for his military service, studying for two years to become an automotive engineer. In 2015, he joined the IDF as a technical combat soldier in the elite Duvdevan commando unit.
After his military service, Nitzan continued to fulfill his duty as a reservist and worked for five years in various automobile workshops. A little over a year before his death, he landed his dream job: an automotive technician at Tesla. There he distinguished himself for his professional excellence, achieving promotion and undergoing advanced training in Madrid a few weeks before he was assassinated.
“Half the world was present at his funeral, from the advisors he had in the scouts, to his friends from the army and childhood, to his colleagues at Tesla – some with tattoos like Nitzan in his memory – as well as his friends from Eilat and his relatives from Netanya,” his uncle, Yoram Tishbi, told local media.
“Nitzan was deeply dedicated to the military and always dreamed of becoming an elite fighter,” he added. “He was like my own son. I always saw how much he loved to help and devote himself. He had a good soul, always ready to extend a helping hand, even without being asked. A boy who loved everyone and was loved by everyone. »
His mother, Yisca, told a local Netanya website that “Nitzan achieved all his dreams in a single year, the biggest of which was to work at Tesla, and he did it brilliantly. At Tesla, he was appreciated as much for his human and professional qualities, and he was even promoted very quickly.”
“Nitzan deeply loved this country and the people as they were. He was a child with strong moral values, deeply Zionist, an exceptional person,” she added.
“Nitzan also had a joker side and a heart of gold. He loved to play jokes and pranks…he was funny and he was a loyal friend. Passionate about martial arts, lover of nature, he breathed music and was a much-loved scout leader. »
