The Redmi Note 14: the most interesting cheap smartphones in 2025?
Last year, the Redmi Note 13 established itself as one of the best “cheap” smartphones, around 200 euros thanks to a muscular technical sheet that is difficult to match. Its successor, the Redmi Note 14 obviously uses the same arguments with some improvements.
Xiaomi is already making an effort in terms of sustainability; if we are still on 4 years of software updates, the Redmi Note 14 and 14 5G will benefit from 6 years of security updatesin order to ensure safe use over time. Xiaomi also promises 4 years of preserved autonomy.
There are again two versions, one 4G and the other 5G. These share several points in common:
- A 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels
- Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the screen
- A refresh rate of up to 120 Hz
- A 108 Mpx main sensor (f/1.7)
But also quite a few differences… The Redmi Note 14 4G has the advantage of autonomy with a 5500 mAh battery compared to 5110 mAh for the Redmi Note 5Gbut also the price given thatit is sold from €199 for its 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage version.
The Redmi Note 5G wins over:
- the load which rises to 45W against 33W for the Redmi Note 14
- The photo pane with an 8 Mpx ultra wide-angle sensor in addition to the macro sensor and the main sensor, where the Redmi Note 14 opts for a depth sensor that is not very useful
- The Redmi note 5G has an IP64 certification, where the 4G version is satisfied with IP54
- Higher brightness (2100 nits versus 1800 nits)
- A slightly more powerful chip (Dimensity 7025 Ultra instead of a MediaTek Helio G99-Ultra)
- It is lighter (190 grams versus 200 grams)
However, it is more expensive with an introductory price of €299 in the 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage version.
In both cases the quality-price ratio is good, the choice will mainly depend on your uses and budget. For basic use, the Redmi Note 14 4G will be more than enough, since it offers the essentials: a beautiful screen, comfortable battery life and good general resistance.

We are now moving up a little with the Redmi Note 14 Pro, which also has a 4G and a 5G version.each with their own specificities. So why keep it simple when you can make it complicated…
We have again a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. However, the resolution varies depending on the model: 2400 x 1080 pixels for 4G and 2712 x 1220 pixels (1.5K) for 5G. The same goes for brightness: 1800 nits for the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G and up to 3000 nits peak for 5G. Both smartphones are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, but only the 5G is IP68 certified. 4G still has IP64 certification.
For the photo part, in both cases we gain in quality compared to the basic Redmi Note 14 since we have a 200 Mpx main sensor (f/1.65) with AI processing. He is supported by:
- An 8 Mpx ultra-wide-angle sensor (f/2.2)
- A 2 Mpx macro sensor (f/2.4)
On the front we have a 32 Mpx (f/2.2) front sensor for the 4G version and 20 Mpx (f/2.2) for the 5G version.
This also varies on the SoC side with for 4G a MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra chip engraved in 6 nm and for 5G a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chip engraved in 4 nm. The advantage this time goes to the 5G version.
For autonomy, the 4G offers a 5500 mAh battery with charging at 45W and the 5G a 5110 mAh battery with charging at 45W as well.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G is sold from €349 in its 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage version.. It has better autonomy, but slightly lower performance and only has IP64 certification.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is sold from €399 with also 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It is more efficient and is IP69 certified. It can also be found in 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for €399.
In both cases we have smartphones with beautiful finishes, with a beautiful screen, a convincing main sensor and correct performance (especially for the 5G version).

The Redmi 14 Pro +: the more high-end model
We arrive at the most high-end model: the Redmi 14 Pro +. It’s simpler this time since it is only available in the 5G version at €469 in 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage or at €499 in 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. In both cases, a Redmi Note 6 bracelet is offered for its launch offer.
This is the fastest charging model, as it can go up to 120Wprovided you have the right charger (which is not included). It is also faster with a SnapDragon 7s Gen 3 chip engraved in 4 nm.
We have a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED curved panel with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels and a brightness of up to 3000 nits. In terms of resistance, the Redmi 14 Pro + benefits from IP68 certification and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass.
On the photo side, we have the same configuration as the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G. And there, again it is mainly on the main 200 Mpx sensor that we can count. It offers beautiful colors and sharpness, especially during the day.
