The law of series has unfortunately struck again. Monday January 13, a house fire caused three deaths, including two minors aged 9 and 15, in Wingles (Pas-de-Calais). A day later, still in the Hauts-de-France region, a new fire killed a child.

Fatal fire in Pas-de-Calais: “dramatic outcome”, a mother and her two daughters dead, two children saved… What we know about the tragedy
Tuesday January 14, around 9 p.m., a violent fire broke out in Noyon (Oise), in a small four-story building. The commander of the Compiègne gendarmerie company, Arthur Cholet, told AFP that a mother and her child were present at the time of the disaster.
The origin of the “a priori” accidental disaster
The accident cost the life of the 6-year-old boy who inhaled smoke and was found unresponsive by the firefighters at the time of their intervention, specifies Actu. Despite attempts at resuscitation, he did not survive and the Smur doctor declared him dead on the spot. His mother, on the other hand, managed to get out of the apartment.
A gendarmerie investigation under the authority of the Compiègne public prosecutor’s office “is underway” to determine the circumstances of the fire and the child’s death, added Commander Cholet. According to another source within the gendarmerie, the origin of the disaster would be “a priori” accidental.
The Compiègne public prosecutor’s office did not immediately respond to requests from AFP. This tragedy occurred barely a day after another fatal house fire in the Hauts-de-France region, which left three dead, including two minors aged 9 and 15, in Wingles (Pas-de-Calais).
