The fires ravaging Los Angeles, California, are real and not exaggerated, said Tunisian artist Samir Kammoun, based in the United States. “The images relayed by local media reflect reality,” he added.

During an intervention on Jawhara FMMr. Kammoun indicated that his house in Los Angeles was not affected by the flames thanks to its location far from the affected areas. He also welcomed the intervention of the Tunisian ambassador in Washington, who contacted the Tunisian community to ensure their security.

Current situation

The fires continue to progress, fueled by violent winds which complicate the work of firefighters, despite their considerable efforts. According to Mr. Kammoun, the flames have already reached the famous Hollywood Hills.

Assessment and forecasts

The fires have already killed 24 people so far. Rescue teams are battling time to bring the flames under control. While the National Meteorological Agency predicts the return of winds of up to 110 km/h in the coming days, increasing the risk of spread.
