Charlie Dalin won his first Vendée Globe on Tuesday after an exemplary journey of 64 days 19 hours 22 minutes and 49 seconds around the world. The 40-year-old Frenchman, in the lead for more than 80% of the course, beat by nine days the record established in 2016-2017 by Armel Le Cléac’h (74 days, 3 hours, 35 minutes and 46 seconds). “It was really intense, I feel like I left the day before yesterday,” the winner joked at the finish line.
