Daniil Medvedev had all the trouble in the world this Tuesday to get rid of Kasidit Samrej in the first round of the Australian Open. The Russian won 6-2, 4-6, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, not without getting upset in the process.
The Australian Open did not get off to an optimal start for Daniil Medvedev. The Russian player qualified well for the second round, but he had to play 5 sets against Kasidit Samrej. Visibly upset on the court, the Russian could not contain himself at the end of the third set.
Furious to give a set point to the Thai, Medvedev let himself be carried away by his emotions. He then smashed his racket while attacking a camera installed in the net strip. Neither the device nor his racket resisted this outburst.
He was able to recover afterwards, finally winning 6-2, 4-6, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.
