Cédric Zesiger (26 years old) will play until the end of the season in Augsburg. His club Wolfsburg has in fact loaned the Swiss defender to the Bavarian team, which has a purchase option. Furthermore, Noah Okafor’s loan to Leipzig was canceled for medical reasons.

Zesiger left Young Boys in the summer of 2023 for Wolfsburg, where he made 23 appearances in the Bundesliga last season. But he lost his starting place during the current exercise after starting in the first five days. Since then, the Swiss international (4 caps) has only come into play as a substitute twice in November.

Noah Okafor fails his medical examination

Noah Okafor will ultimately not join Leipzig. The Swiss international striker failed after the medical examination, according to German media.

The 24-year-old from Basel arrived on Monday in Leipzig, who were to recruit him on loan with an option to buy from AC Milan. But club officials changed their mind after the medical examination, believing that the player was not 100% and in condition to be able to help the team immediately.

Okafor injured his calf in December, but has since returned to training with AC Milan. He has now returned to Italy.
