Budget, pensions: “no significant progress” in negotiations between the PS and Bayrou (PS executive)
There was no “significant progress” in the negotiations for a non-censorship agreement between François Bayrou and the Socialist Party which had “no guarantee concerning the suspension of the pension reform”, declared Monday evening on BFMTV the secretary general of the PS Pierre Jouvet.
“As I speak to you, the proposals that are on the table are not acceptable to the Socialist Party and we regret that,” added Mr. Jouvet. On the eve of Mr. Bayrou’s general policy declaration before the Assembly, the PS, which is calling in particular for a freeze on pension reform, was received for almost two hours at Matignon.
