“Mostly it was great”: Maria Höfl-Riesch is divorced

A few months ago it became known that former skier Maria Höfl-Riesch and her manager Marcus Höfl were no longer a couple. The divorce is now finalized. Even then, they both present themselves more harmoniously than many other couples.

Maria Höfl-Riesch and Marcus Höfl have been a couple for 15 years. They have been married for 13 years. If a separation occurs after such a long period of time, a full-blown War of the Roses seems almost inevitable. However, this is not the case for the 40-year-old ski legend and sports manager, who is ten years older than him. They reportedly maintained extremely friendly relations even on the day of the divorce.

This is what the newspaper “Bild” reports. Therefore, the two men appeared last Thursday at the Kitzbühel District Court to end their life together in just 30 minutes. Beforehand, they would have eaten together in a restaurant then had coffee together. They are said to have shared a divorce lawyer. Even the judge reportedly said that he had rarely experienced such a peaceful divorce.

“On the one hand, the end of our marriage is of course not pleasant. On the other hand, we both have a lot of gratitude for these 15 wonderful years together. Most of the time it was great,” Marcus Höfl told the “Bild” newspaper. The two men, whose marriage remained childless, are happy to separate harmoniously and will remain friends and professionally linked.

“Great Love”

The couple reportedly separated spatially before Christmas. While Maria Höfl-Riesch remains in the apartment he previously shared, he moved into a house he built several years ago, writes the newspaper “Bild”.

Maria Höfl-Riesch had already made the separation public in August. “After careful consideration and with heavy hearts, we have decided to separate privately in the future. Unfortunately, our lives have developed too much in different directions,” she explained on social networks.

On the occasion of her 40th birthday on November 24, the three-time Olympic champion also commented on the end of love in an interview with “Gala” magazine. It “was and remains painful,” she explained. “But I am very happy that we are on good terms and that we can turn our relationship into friendship,” she added.

“Turning 40 marks a new decade and for me, as a single person, a new life situation,” continued Maria Höfl-Riesch. She doubts she will find a partner like her ex-husband again: “I had a lot of love with him. » However, she rules out the possibility of a return of love with Marcus Höfl: “We did not throw away our love carelessly, we fought to have it. The last two years were no longer what they should have been. »
