Fires in California: solidarity is organized

On the lookout for flames that could flare up again under the charred beams, Lionel Sauvage inspects his neighbors’ houses. He tours his neighborhood in the west of Los Angeles. His house was spared from the flames, but not everyone was so lucky. “I am the firefighter of my little neighborhood”assures the resident, who tried to protect him with water from his swimming pool before having to leave the premises.

“Helping our community during these uncertain times is truly the least we can do”admits a neighboring resident of the neighborhoods affected by the fires. Thus, collections are increasing in Los Angeles with car trunks well loaded with water and food. In just a few hours, a racetrack parking lot was even filled with donations of clothing and toys. The Red Cross announced that there were enough donations for the tens of thousands of victims.
