Three people died in a house fire this Monday, January 13 in Wingles (Pas-de-), a mother and her two daughters.

A fatal house fire occurred early in the morning of Monday January 13 in Wingles (Pas-de-Calais). Three people died, a mother and her two daughters, two other people were injured.

• Three victims, a mother and her two daughters

The fire broke out at 4 a.m. in a home located on rue du Pronet in Wingles (Pas-de-Calais). Despite the intervention of firefighters, three people died in the fire. The victims are a mother and her two daughters, the town hall told BFM Grand .

“It’s a dramatic toll. A mother, a 9-year-old little girl and a 16-year-old teenager [sont mortes]”, indicates Sébastien Messent, mayor of Wingles, at the microphone of BFM Grand Lille.

“Unfortunately, the widespread conflagration of the house did not allow us to get other people out. • Two children pulled out of the flames by a neighbor

The town hall indicates that two other people were pulled out of the fire by a neighbor. The latter had the reflex to rescue them with a ladder.

For their part, the firefighters mentioned two boys aged 11 and 12, in relative emergency, who were transported to hospital.

“The entire house was ravaged by the flames. The ground floor and the first floor are completely destroyed. There was no spread to the adjoining houses,” he adds.

Around 7 a.m., the fire was under control and contained, the town hall told BFM Grand Lille.

• Electricity cut off, municipal hall open

The father was at work at the time of the incident. When he arrived at the scene, he was taken care of by the judicial police then by the national police who took him to the Lens hospital center.

The mayor of Wingles indicates that he is working on the issue of rehousing: “If the gentleman needs to rehouse with his children, we will have to be reactive.”

To keep the entire neighborhood safe, the electricity was cut off. A municipal room was opened and made available to local residents and emergency teams. “The police will do their job and are in the process of establishing the first elements of the investigation,” said the mayor.
