The multidisciplinary hall of Radès, in the southern suburbs of the Tunisian capital, will be the beating heart of fencing from January 10 to 12, while the best saber fighters in the world compete for the 2025 Saber Grand Prix.
Coming from the four corners of the world, these athletes compete in fast and intense duels where agility, precision and strategy are essential to achieve the podium.
This edition of the Tunis Grand Prix promises to be a true clash of the titans, with an elite field where the best swordsmen in the world will compete. Among the must-sees, we find Oh Sang-wook (South Korea), world number 1 and Olympic champion, Fares Ferjani (Tunisia), world number 2 and Olympic silver medalist, Sarah Balzer (France), world number 1 and vice -Olympic champion, Manon Apithy-Brunet (France), Olympic champion and world number 2, as well as Jeon Ha-young (South Korea), world number 3 and Olympic medalist.
The Tunisian delegation, made up of 7 sabreurs, will be led by Fares Ferjani, while the 7 sabers, headed by African champion Yasmine Daghfous, will try to raise their flag at the highest level.
The Turkish delegation includes 6 sabreurs and 1 saberwoman, including Enver Yıldırım, double bronze medalist at the European Fencing Championships.
-The year 2024 was exceptional for Tunisian fencing, marked by major events which highlighted the dynamism and talent of its athletes. Among the highlights, Fares Ferjani’s silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a historic feat that galvanized the entire discipline.
This year was also marked by the organization of three high-level international competitions in Tunisia: the Tunis Saber Grand Prix (January 12-14 in Radès), the Foil World Cup (November 21-24 in Radès) , and the Junior Saber World Cup (November 29-December 1 in Hammamet).
The grand final of the Tunis Grand Prix, on January 12, promises a high-flying clash between the best sabers in the world, ready to compete for the gold medal and the coveted podium.
