A sporting event was therefore canceled for a second consecutive day in the Los Angeles region. The day before, the Los Angeles Kings were scheduled to face the Calgary Flames at the same location.

The NBA has indicated that this game will be postponed to a later date.

Three major fires are currently ravaging the Los Angeles metropolitan area, after two days marked by impressive squalls. At least 70,000 people have received evacuation notices, and more than 1,000 buildings have already been destroyed.

The Kings have indicated that spectators who have tickets for the game against the Flames will be able to use them once a date has been established for the resumption of this clash.

The NFL is also closely monitoring the situation, since it could have consequences for the preparation of its two clubs in the Los Angeles area for the playoffs. The Rams are scheduled to host the Minnesota Vikings in a National Association playoff game Monday night at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

The Los Angeles Rams and Chargers are practicing in areas that are safe from fires, but both teams are monitoring the situation closely due to air quality and its potential impact on their preparations for the NFL playoffs.
