Thursday January 16, 2025 at 8:30 p.m., the Archipelago will host the show “Fort” given by the company “À brule-pourpoint”. Combining theater and music, this show evokes beauty and its strength in the face of violence. The desire for this creation comes from the meeting between two artists: Benoît Menut, composer, and Catherine Anne, playwright. It was about bringing together performers who could both play together and bring the singularity of their presence, with the pianist Dana Ciocarlie and the actors Yves Bressiant and Sava Lolov. The cast functions like a trio, each voice having to take its place, strong and singular, in the overall harmony.

A poetic installation

A flexible stage system has been designed, making it possible to move from very large stages to smaller or constrained spaces. The goal is to set up a poetic and free installation, and above all not to represent reality, but to give rise to dreams from a fragmented, exploded sky. A half-grand piano is thus placed in a forest of painted skies. The transparency of the silk pongee of certain skies allows ghostly appearances or sudden appearances. Scenes follow one another, with debris on the ground and a little plant matter under the piano.

Breakfast with the author

In addition, the Archipelago will offer, on Friday January 17, 2025 at 10 a.m., a breakfast with the author and director of the show, Catherine Anne, to continue to focus on the themes addressed by the show. This meeting is free, upon registration, and intended for adults.
