“We have over 500 people affected and, unfortunately, we have two reported deaths, two civilians,” Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said.

“Many” other people were seriously injured in the fire in Eaton, north of Los Angeles. 1,000 buildings were destroyed, he said at a press conference.
