The match between Málaga CF and Deportivo La Coruña has been designated as a high-risk match by the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport. The move follows alarming incidents during their previous meeting during the first half of the season, including involving ultras groups, Frente Bokerón and Riazor Blues, as well as a troubling episode before the Copa del Rey match between Marbella and Atlético de Madrid.
Scheduled for this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at La Rosaleda Stadium, what should be a gripping clash between two prestigious football clubs is now overshadowed by concerns over spectator safety, not only during the 90 minutes on the pitch, but even before the match day itself. The previous meeting between these teams was marred by unpleasant scenes, leading to increased police security measures for this weekend’s match.

Almería aims higher: “Our intention is to move forward”
Málaga radicals, apparently staying in Santiago de Compostela to avoid potential clashes, vandalized a bar terrace on Friday evening, a popular gathering place for local supporters before matches. On Saturday morning, tensions rose as local fans sought to confront the Frente Bokerón, leading to two arrests for attempted assault on the national police, with some attackers having no identification linked to the one or other of the teams.
In fact, just a few weeks ago, following incidents on October 6, hundreds of ultras were fined and banned from sport due to their actions. Members of the Riazor Blues even tried to enter the hotel where Málaga CF were staying during their visit to Galicia.
-To add to the concern, last weekend was again marked by an incident involving ultras in Málaga, when members of Frente Bokerón confronted Frente Atlético a short distance from La Rosaleda. This brief but intense skirmish caused considerable damage to the Mesón Segalerva terrace. Additionally, the rojiblancos vandalized the Plaza de la Merced, leaving Atleti stickers scattered around the Picasso statue.
