In Séné, on June 1, 2024, around 2:20 a.m., emergency services were alerted to a road trip near the Travelers area in Tohannic involving a vehicle. The passenger, aged 21, was lying in the ditch. Injured in the back, he was transported by firefighters to the Vannes hospital center. The driver, also injured, had consumed MDMA, cannabis and cocaine. And his blood alcohol level revealed a level of 1.08 g/l of blood.

“We had come to see the broadcast of a rugby match in a bar in Vannes and we had consumed four to five pints of beer. I also took two ecstasy pills and rails of cocaine. I felt like I could drive when I decided to go home. I lost control of my car on the straight because I was looking at the car radio and I then bit the shoulder,” explained the defendant, Wednesday January 8, before the Vannes court.
Following this accident, this man, aged 39 and living in Lauzach, suffered a broken collarbone and was immobilized for two months. His criminal record includes two convictions, including one already for driving under the influence of alcohol. “This factory worker is inserted. A fine would be more appropriate than a suspension of the license he needs to work,” his lawyer said during the hearing.

For the passenger’s lawyer, “the injured person is still off work because his cervical fracture causes recurring pain. He risks having significant after-effects. Medical expertise and psychological monitoring are necessary. » According to the prosecutor, “the only assessment that the defendant takes from this accident is that he would be very pissed, according to his expression, if he lost his license. And all this after an evening of drinking and irresponsible behavior. »
-The court sentenced the defendant to six months in prison and the suspension of his license for six months. He will also have to pay a provision of €10,000 to the victim regarding his damage, pending the conclusions of a medical expertise to which he will be subjected.
