Algeria
– The management of JS Kabylie (JSK) is working to appoint a new coach to replace Abdelhak Benchikha, but no final decision has yet been taken to date. According to reliable sources, club officials have been overwhelmed by around a hundred applications since Benchikha’s departure. Faced with this abundance, they have drawn up a shortlist of six names, on which they are currently focusing their negotiating efforts.

Among the names circulating, two seem to stand out: the Franco-Comorian Amir Abdou and the German Josef Zinnbauer. However, other candidates, including Argentinians, Spaniards, Romanians, and even former Poland coach Czeslaw Michniewicz, have also been proposed. JSK officials remain cautious and discreet, refusing to reveal more information until a deal is finalized. The recruitment process therefore remains open, with managers continuing to review new CVs alongside talks with coaches on their shortlist.

Initially, management hoped to complete this file before the 1/16 final match of the Algerian Cup against USMH. However, anxious not to rush and to avoid a new error, those responsible chose to procrastinate. This caution stems largely from their recent experience with Abdelhak Benchikha, who left the team despite unwavering support from management. Such a situation now pushes decision-makers to take into account, beyond technical skills, the personality and the ability of the future coach to manage pressure from supporters. They want to avoid recruiting a profile who could resign at the first crisis.

The new coach, whoever he or she may be, will have to meet high demands. With the reinforcements planned during this winter transfer window, the JSK aims to play the leading roles in the championship and aim to qualify for a continental competition. Aware of the urgency of the situation, however, leaders prefer to opt for in-depth reflection, even if time is running out. Their priority is to guarantee that the future coach will be able to meet the sporting and emotional expectations of an emblematic club like JSK.

This strategic choice is part of a desire to stabilize the technical staff and ensure continuity in the club’s ambitions. The final decision, although eagerly awaited, will be announced once all negotiations have been concluded, with the aim of securing a strong and lasting partnership.
