A respected big league veteran, Steven Adams once worked closely with outfielders such as Ja Morant and Russell Westbrook. You would think that these would be the two most athletic players he could have played with… However, the Houston pivot recently surprised everyone by mentioning another candidate.
Aside from the Thunder, no one is doing better than the Rockets in the West this season. Second with 32 wins for 12 losses, the Texans got off to a superb start and established themselves as very serious candidates for the playoffs. It must be said that certain young shoots have made big progress compared to 2023-24, like Jalen Green or Alperen Sengun who are the main leaders of this squad.
Another nugget to shine on the floors, Amen Thompson is having a blast in his sophomore campaign. The winger averages more than 12 points and 7 rebounds and if he is a little one-dimensional in attack, his outside shot being almost non-existent, he is already entitled to accolades from some big names in the league. LeBron James and Kendrick Perkins in particular have been full of praise for him… especially for his athletic qualities.

Because for those who don’t know, Ausar’s twin (Pistons) is literally spring loaded with a completely crazy trigger. Steven Adamswho is his teammate in Houston, summed it up perfectly with a huge statement following his game against the Lakers, which he finished with 23 points and 16 rebounds:

Because of monstrous athletes, Adams knew some of them during his career when he was the sidekick of Russell Westbrook during his prime and Ja Morant to the Grizzlies. Two clients known for turning the basketball world upside down at the slightest flight… Suffice to say that Thompson finds himself at the head of a crazy club, enough to shock the fans.

Steven Adams has been teammates with Russell Westbrook and Ja Morant, two of the most athletic players of all time…and yet he seems to think Amen Thompson is even better at it than them. Clearly, the Rockets sophomore really has dynamite in his calves.
