Vietnamese students in Russia promote their country’s culture

Moscow (VNA) – On January 7, the Commercial Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia celebrated the 75th anniversary of the traditional Vietnamese Student Day (January 9, 1950-2025) and held an annual review ceremony of the Association Vietnamese students in Russia for 2024.

The event was attended by representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, Tran Phu Thuan, Vice President and Secretary General of the Union of Organizations of Vietnamese in Russia, as well as more than 100 exemplary Vietnamese students.

At the ceremony, Le Huynh Duc, president of the Vietnamese Students Association in Russia, presented a report on the association’s notable achievements in 2024. These include the successful organization of the Vietnamese Students’ Congress in Russia. Russia in March 2024, bringing together more than 160 delegates representing the approximately 9,000 Vietnamese students in this country, as well as the development of volunteer movements.

These initiatives include raising more than 100 million VND to finance the construction of a computer room for Bao Toan Primary School, located in the northern province of Cao Bang.

The Association also donated more than $2,000 to support the victims of Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam and organized various cultural and sporting activities. These events strengthened solidarity among Vietnamese students in Russia and promoted Vietnamese cultural values ​​to Russian and international friends.

For the first time, 36 remarkable students have been honored and awarded the prestigious title of Students of Five Qualities for the 2023-2024 school year.

Representatives of the Party Committee of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia and the Union of Organizations of Vietnamese in Russia expressed their hope that the Association of Vietnamese Students in Russia will continue to develop and attract the active participation of a large number of Vietnamese students. The Association is encouraged to strengthen its integration and exchanges with international students, thereby helping to promote the unique cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese nation among international friends in Russia. -VNA
