On Monday, viewers learned with horror of the death of Delphine Martin (Virginie Ranger-Beauregard), then the next day, they discovered, with equal horror, that Philippe Dupéré (Patrick Labbé), STAT’s beloved psychiatrist, had succumbed to his injuries.
As Steve Jolicoeur is responsible for Philippe’s death, it is very likely that he will have to stand trial and even be found guilty of second degree murder. So, we are right to wonder if this is not the end also for Marc Beaupré in everyday life. Even if his lawyers talked about not being criminally responsible due to mental disorders, would he really come back to work at Saint-Vincent as if nothing had happened? It’s unlikely.
We also wonder how the surgeon will react when he understands that he killed one of his colleagues, believing that he was possessed by “hackers”. It will certainly be a very interesting part for the actor to play, but it could well be his last in the daily life of Marie-Andrée Labbé… Unless we follow his development through the walls of the penitentiary or what he is undertaking rehabilitation. Nothing is ruled out at the moment.
We are witnessing an explosive and devastating start to the mid-season. We can say that the author has surpassed herself this time, giving us a tragic, moving plot. As we have seen the other two episodes of the week, we can tell you this: prepare to be further captivated by some extremely well-acted scenes by a seasoned and dedicated cast.
Note that, if he leaves us in STATwe can always fall back on L’aréna to see the excellent Marc Beaupré on the small screen again. The twelve episodes of the 2nd season will be posted on CRAVE at the rate of two broadcasts per week starting Thursday, January 9.
