The Ottawa Senators have recalled forward Jan Jenik and defensemen Max Guenette and Nikolas Matinpalo from Belleville in the American Hockey League.
Jenik played 13 games with Belleville this season with seven points, four goals and three assists. Jenik was acquired by the Utah Senators via trade on July 3, 2024, for forward Egor Sokolov.
In 27 games in Belleville this season, Guenette has amassed three goals and six assists for a total of nine points. This production positions the Canadian athlete third among the team’s defenders this season. Before the start of the campaign, Guenette was named to the group of leaders with the Belleville Senators. Guenette played his first NHL game with the Senators on April 13, 2023, against the Buffalo Sabres. Since then, the defender has made eight appearances for the club, including seven last season.
Matinpalo most recently played with the Senators this season, on December 29, 2024 in the Minnesota Wild’s 3-1 victory. This season, the defender played 24 games with Belleville, scoring two goals and six assists for a total of eight points.
The Senators will face the Detroit Red Wings tonight at 7 p.m. ET in Detroit.
