An earthquake left at least more than a hundred dead in Tibet on Tuesday January 7. Chinese soldiers are on site to help the population in extreme conditions.
One by one, rescuers cleared the bodies and evacuated the injured with the means at hand, in Tibet, where the human toll from the earthquake that occurred on Tuesday January 7 continues to rise. In the highlands near Nepal, the earthquake destroyed more than 1,000 earth-walled houses. Even the cows were buried under the rubble.
“Many villages were affected by the earthquake, we will go everywhere and try to find the inhabitants who need our help”testifies Ciren Mima, rescuer from the Tibet forest brigade. According to authorities, the earthquake is one of the strongest in recent years. A stunned resident filmed and posted on social networks a video of the first damage, which occurred on the morning of Tuesday.
In the region, at an altitude of 4,000 meters, the Chinese army was dispatched to help the residents. Tents are deployed at -5 degrees during the day, and -18 degrees at night. Some 1,500 additional rescuers were mobilized.
