The United Kingdom continues to experience disruption to road traffic due to bad weather on Tuesday, while 190 flood alerts have been issued, according to Anadolu.

Lincolnshire and Leicestershire have declared a major incident in response to the extreme weather conditions hitting the UK, with hundreds of flood alerts and warnings issued.

Police say they have found the body of a man in a flooded area of ​​North Yorkshire.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue is the first emergency service in England to declare an emergency after receiving more than 200 calls since Monday morning due to widespread flooding.

Its teams rescued 59 people on Monday, while authorities in Lincolnshire announced conditions would deteriorate further.

All rail lines between Peterborough and Leicester in England were closed on Monday, while further flooding in Elton and Orston disrupted travel between Nottingham and Grantham.

Train tracks between Worcester Shrub Hill and Hereford were also flooded following heavy rain, leading to the closure of some lines.

Separately, the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum declared a major incident and said emergency services had rescued 45 children stranded at a school in Edenham.

Following the incidents in Leicestershire and Lincolnshire, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said his thoughts were with everyone affected and thanked those working to keep people safe.

“Anyone in these areas should follow the advice of emergency services,” Starmer told X.

Manchester Airport has been hit again by heavy snowfall.

“Our slopes are temporarily closed due to heavy snowfall. Our teams are working hard to clear them as quickly as possible,” airport officials wrote on X.

The Met Office has also issued three yellow alerts for snow and ice for Tuesday morning.

On Monday, amid various disruptions, the Met Office announced that the night from Sunday to Monday had been the coldest of this winter in the United Kingdom so far, with the temperature having fallen to minus 13.3°C in Loch Glascarnoch, Scotland.
