Kairouan: the shortage of domestic gas bottles continues

The domestic gas crisis continues in the governorate of Kairouan, where on Tuesday January 7, 2025, queues of citizens and taxi owners were recorded in front of the distribution company in the Raqada area, in the district south of Kairouan, in the presence of security agents.

Citizens expressed their dissatisfaction with the unavailability of domestic gas cylinders in Kairouan, which forced them to travel since early in the morning to Raqada, about 7 kilometers from the city, in search of gas.

On the other hand, an official from the Kairouan regional trade directorate, Salah Eddine Jabari, confirmed that the distribution process continues daily at a rate of 3,360 bottles per day to four distributors in the southern provinces of Kairouan, namely, Oueslatia, Bouhajla and Raqada.

Jabari added that the regional trade directorate assigned control teams and teams to supervise the distribution process, where 18 domestic gas cylinders were seized yesterday from a depot where goods were hidden.
