NVIDIA announces its RTX 50 series with prices ranging from €649 to €2,349

NVIDIA took advantage of CES in Las Vegas to announce the arrival of its new generation of GPUs. The first GeForce graphics cards will be based on the Blackwell architecture and will be named RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti or RTX 5070. Here is the first information, but also the prices of the Founder’s Edition cards.

The performance level goes up a notch and the green giant announces that the RTX 5090 and 5080 can double the performance of previous cards. This is obviously done under particularly advantageous conditions for newcomers, namely by activating DLSS4, a technology reserved for the 50xx range.

Here is a brief overview of the cards:

  • RTX 5090 : 21760 CUDA cores, 32 GB of GDDR7 at 1792 GB/sec, TDP of 575W, from €2,349.
  • RTX 5080 : 10752 CUDA cores, 16 GB of GDDR7 at 960 GB/sec, TDP of 360W, has from €1,179.
  • RTX 5070 Ti : 8960 CUDA cores, 16 GB of GDDR7 at 896 GB/sec, TDP of 300W, from €884.
  • RTX 5070 : 6144 CUDA cores, 12 GB of GDDR7 at 672 GB/sec, TDP of 250W, from €649.

The RTX 5090 and 5080 will be released on January 30, 2025. The RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti will be released in February.

As you can see, the RTX 5090 and 5080 will be reserved for very wealthy gamers, especially since the prices of custom cards will be higher. There is no doubt that we will find RTX 5080s at €1,400 quickly.

The RTX 5000 series obviously brings several new features, starting with a PCIe 5.0 interface, GDDR7 memory and a design allowing for more compact cards. DLSS4 is exclusive to the new range and NVIDIA announces that 75 games will take advantage of it at launch. NVIDIA promises, as always, cinema-quality visual rendering, unprecedented fluidity, etc. The Reflex 2 reduces latency to the point that competitive gamers obviously won’t be able to do without it. The RTX 5000s are packed with AI on every level and you can discover all the features on the official website.

Beyond the marketing speech, ordinary mortals will obviously impatiently await the first tests of the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti, but also the announcement of the RTX 5060 which should take place in the coming weeks.
