Germany shares “the pain of our French friends”wrote Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Tuesday January 7 on X, 10 years to the day after the jihadist attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris.
“The Barbarian Attack” of the Kouachi brothers, which left 12 dead including 8 members of the satirical newspaper, “targeted our common values of freedom and democracy – we will never accept it”added the German leader on the social network.

Anne Hidalgo, Emmanuel Macron, several ministers as well as elected officials from the City of Paris pay tribute to the victims of Charlie Hebdoto those of the Hyper Cacher hostage-taking, and to police lieutenant Ahmed Merabet. Three ceremonies marked by sobriety, in accordance with the wishes of the families, are organized from 11:30 a.m.
They begin on rue Nicolas-Appert, at the address of the former premises of Charlie Hebdothen continue on Boulevard Richard-Lenoir, where Lieutenant Ahmed Merabet was killed, and finally Porte de Vincennes, in front of the Hyper Cacher store.
-These ceremonies open a cycle of tributes, while France was hit in 2015 by a series of attacks, including those in Paris and Saint-Denis on November 13 of the same year.
Special issue of the satirical magazine, tribute evening, documentaries and testimonies… The audiovisual sector, the press and publishing are also mobilizing for the commemorations of ten years of the attacks against Charlie Hebdo.
