A commercial gesture after the holidays. SNCF is selling 300,000 train tickets at a maximum of 19 euros for its Ouigo trains running between January 13 and March 31 to more than 60 destinations across France. Please note, however: this offer will only be valid for 48 hours, this Tuesday January 7 and Wednesday January 8 on the Ouigo application and the usual sales sites.
Entitled “Frozen Prices”, this flash sale concerns both intramural stations and long journeys. It also allows you to benefit from €5 tickets for children if purchased at the same time as an adult ticket. Useful information: tickets purchased as part of this promotion are not refundable, but exchangeable under conditions.
This exceptional offer comes at a time when train prices continue to increase, particularly low-cost services such as Ouigo. In 2023, it increased by 10% on this type of service, while the price of the classic TGV increased by 6%. These increases, combined with better filling of the trains, allowed the SNCF to increase its revenues and return to their 2019 level.
Train attendance increased by 5% in 2023 compared to 2022, confirming the growing appetite of the French for this means of transport, despite deteriorating punctuality and increasing prices, according to a report from the Transport Authority (ART) published last December.
