Railway workers in the former Midi-Pyrénées region are on strike to protest against new work schedules put in place since mid-December. SNCF Occitanie wants to run more trains this year (230 more trains will run each week).

This will be the case in particular on the Narbonne-Toulouse axis with 13 additional stops but also in the north-east of Toulouse with more traffic from Toulouse towards Carmaux, Mazamet and Figeac.

According to the unions, there is a shortage of 35 drivers to respond to this new offer. On the SNCF side, we assure that negotiations are still underway. “In 2023 and 2024, SNCF Voyageurs recruited nearly 160 drivers in Occitanie to provide the number of drivers necessary to carry out the transport plan. These recruitment efforts will continue in 2025.”

The strike notice ends this evening.
