Emma Stone definitely said new year, new hair, new me.
While attending the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, the Oscar winner debuted a new pixie haircut while walking the red carpet. The Hollywood Reporter later learned the haircut was for an upcoming movie role.
Her new hairstyle first caught viewers’ attention when she jumped out of her car, hand-in-hand with husband Dave McCary. Stone was all smiles, also sporting a stunning strapless red Louis Vuitton dress, complete with a red bow at the waist.
While describing Stone’s new hair, her longtime stylist and Olaplex ambassador Tracey Cunningham said, “It’s like Mia Farrow.” She has almost no hair. It’s super short, and she’s going to have it cut again, so it’ll be even shorter.
Cunningham also noted that the color is a bit darker than her normal hair, calling the new shade “nutmeg.”
Although the actress wasn’t among this year’s Golden Globe nominees, Stone led the pack last awards season. She won the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the 2024 ceremony for her performance in Poor thingsdirected by Yorgos Lanthimos. The film also won Best Musical or Comedy Film.
The critically acclaimed film follows the fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Poor things also starred Mark Ruffalo and Ramy Youssef.
The actress also won the Academy Award for Best Leading Actress last year for Poor thingsmaking it his second Oscar win after winning the Oscar in 2017 for The The Earth.
