Rome – In the hotly contested city derby, AS Roma claimed a 2-0 victory over Lazio, sparking a brawl instigated by former Germany international Mats Hummels. In the third minute of injury time, AS Roma central defender fouled opponent Valentin Castellanos near the touchline, leading to a collision of heads as they both tried to get up.
Suddenly, Castellanos fell to the ground, covering his face with both hands. Moments later, he said he had received a headbutt from the Lazio striker. This incident sparked a massive confrontation at the Stadio Olimpico, involving numerous players and several staff members. The referee then handed out a red card to Castellanos in the 90+5 minute.

Shortly afterwards, Hummels was able to celebrate Roma’s triumph in the city’s 163rd duel with Lazio in Serie A. The former Borussia Dortmund defender was once again started, impressing with his tackling and game vision on the land. The goals came from Lorenzo Pellegrini in the 10th minute and Alexis Saelemaekers in the 18th minute.
