However, his contractual situation at Liverpool has not changed (it remains the same as that of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk), which has effectively raised eyebrows among observers and caused concern among Reds supporters. In recent days, there have even been rumors suggesting that Real Madrid have made moves to sign the England international this winter, in order to make up for their defensive absences, including that of Daniel Carvajal. According to the Sunday Mirror, the English club have presented a dramatic contract extension offer to their defender in recent days, aiming to finally resolve one of three thorny issues in the coming months: a new five-year contract with a salary of 78 million pounds (around 93 million euros) for the specified duration. This staggering figure corresponds to the proposal supposedly made by the Spanish club to attract Alexander-Arnold, although without a possible signing bonus.
