This Sunday, Croatian Zrinka Ljutic, already in the lead after the first round, won the Kranjska Gora slalom. His second consecutive victory in the specialty.
Until last week, Zrinka Ljutic had never won a race in the Alpine Skiing World Cup. This Sunday, on Podkoren, the Croatian gleaned her second consecutive slalom, after triumphing near Kranjska Gora in Slovenia. The skier had already finished first in the first run, but tied with Wendy Holdener. For this second act, the Swiss, who returned to the forefront after, in particular, the loss of her brother, did not hold on and failed in second place, only 0”16 from her competitor. As for the podium of the day, it is completed by the Swede Anna Swenn-Larsson, who is ahead of the Swiss Camille Rastwho occupied this same position after the first race run in the morning. Ljutic confirms its very good start to the season and therefore signs a second consecutive victory, in this same specialty, after winning the Semmering slalom in Germany last weekend.
First top 10 for Lamure
The Croatian also takes the lead in the general ranking of the World Cup. Her runner-up in Germany, local Lena Duerr, fell during the first round. For her part, already tenth at the end of the first round, Marie Lamure did not give up and confirmed this position at the end of this second round, making her the best Frenchwoman of the day. This is the first top 10 in the career of the Courchevel skier in the World Cup. Two other French women were present in this second round, but they were in more difficulty than their compatriot. Chiara Pogneaux finished in 25th place in this slalom, while Clarisse Brèche was further away, in 27th position. The next slalom round will take place next weekend, near Saint-Anton in Austria. The day before, Saturday, will take place, initially, a giant.
