We will have to count on the Swiss, during the 2nd round of the Kranjska Gora slalom this Sunday from 1 p.m. Wendy Holdener, Camille Rast and Mélanie Meillard are indeed very well placed to get on the podium.

Holdener even plays for victory. The Schwyzoise, who started with bib number one, is in the lead after the first route. But she must share this first place with the Croatian Zrinka Ljutic, victorious last week in Semmering.

The duo is thirty-two hundredths ahead of the wearer of the red bib as leader of the discipline, the Valaisanne Camille Rast. The latter continues to be in the game and can also hope to glean her second career victory, after that obtained at Killington at the beginning of December.

But the Swiss group shooting does not stop there: Mélanie Meillard can dream of a first podium in the World Cup (if we except the one obtained during a City Event in 2018). The skier from Hérémence, regular in recent weeks, is in 6th provisional place, 78 hundredths behind the Holdener-Ljutic pair.

As for Michelle Gisin, she is ranked 16th (+1”66) after thirty competitors.

Note that the German Lena Dürr, 2nd in the slalom rankings behind Rast, made a mistake at the top of the track and will therefore not be in contention in the second round. One less competitor for the Swiss.
