After the broadcast of a video of their daughter held hostage by Hamas, Liri Albag’s parents launched a poignant appeal. “This is no longer the Liri we know,” said her mother Shira, upset by the images received this Saturday.
In a moving message addressed directly to their daughter, the parents affirmed their determination: “Liri, if you see this, know that we are fighting for you, we are not abandoning you and you will come home alive. We know that It’s hard there, you’re suffering, but you’ll come home alive, Mom and Dad promise you, and we keep our promises.”
The parents said they had demanded of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense that the negotiating team “not return without an agreement”. They said the authorities were willing to reach a deal to bring back all the hostages. “Keep fighting and surviving. You are strong and capable,” her mother pleaded, adding that she couldn’t wait to hug her. His father Eli also had a broader message: “Tell everyone that families are moving heaven and earth to bring their children home. We will fight until all the hostages return – the living for their rehabilitation, and the dead for a dignified burial.”
