Joan Laporta is in the grip of palpable frustration alongside Dani Olmo after flirting with disaster during player check-ins.
FC Barcelona has regained the “1:1” rule of financial fair play and is no longer “under intervention”. This announcement comes from the Catalan club following La Liga’s review of documents submitted by the club on December 30 and 31. This means that Barça can now sign players “normally”, although they are still missing the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor despite this new development, as these cases are handled differently.
Thus, the club celebrates its new ability to enter the transfer market from today. This comes after the sale of VIP boxes at the new Camp Nou was agreed by La Liga, according to the Catalan club.
FC Barcelona can sign new players and register them, but not Dani Olmo or Pau Víctor. This is not due to a lack of funds — reports say they have money approved by La Liga — but rather the clear regulations which state: a player whose license has been canceled (as is case for both players) cannot be reactivated by the same club. This is the problem facing Barca regarding Dani Olmo, which is why he remains unregistered.

Payment for VIP boxes at the new Camp Nou allowed FC Barcelona to enter the “1:1” financial control situation of La Liga; However, in the case of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, it came too late. The deadline for their registration expired on December 31. Barca only had funds available on January 3, meaning they missed the deadline.
“Players whose licenses are canceled will not be able to obtain a license with the same team during the same season,” stipulate the regulations of La Liga and the RFEF. This is exactly what is happening with Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor at FC Barcelona. Both players’ licenses were canceled at 00:01 on January 1, as they were not renewed by the Catalan club, which was then short of funds which have now arrived, albeit three days late.
